Furniture repair pickup and delivery

Out, back, and on the record.

Collection is the exception on a commercial job, not the default. Most furniture is repaired where it stands, and when a piece does travel, it moves as a chain of custody: photographed, wrapped, tracked and returned to the room it left.

In short

Part of a repair project, not a service on its own.

We collect sofas, booths, chairs and loose seating across the five boroughs, repair them at our workshop and return them. Most work is done on site instead.

  • CoversWrapping, collection, transport and return for repair, restoration, reupholstery and maintenance.
  • AreaAll five NYC boroughs. Long Island and New Jersey are served on site.
  • WhenOnly for a broken frame, foam cut to a new pattern, or a full recover.
  • CostIn the project quote. A heavy or awkward collection is its own line, agreed in advance.
  • AccessA certificate of insurance is filed before a dock or freight lift is booked.

The test

Does this piece have to leave at all?

Every request for furniture repair pickup and delivery starts with that question, answered in the room. Moving a piece costs a freight window, the seating, and two trips where damage is most likely.

Each needs the piece stripped, turned or clamped longer than a work window allows.

The hold-back

What we will not collect.

Furniture repair pickup and delivery has limits. They are said now, not on the day, with what happens instead.

  1. A built-in green leather banquette in a restaurant
    01

    Built-in seating

Banquettes and booths are joinery. Cutting them out costs more than the repair.

InsteadRepaired in place, overnight if needed.
  2. A beige sofa too large to turn in a narrow stairwell
    02

Pieces that cannot make the route

If it will not clear the door, stair turn or lift, it is not going anywhere.

    InsteadRe-planned as in-place repair.
  3. Bonded leather peeling off a sofa arm
    03

    Peeling bonded or faux leather

Nothing is left to repair once the surface sheets off its backing.

InsteadQuoted as a recover. See bonded and faux leather.
  4. An armchair covered in mould spots in a building lobby
    04

    Contaminated pieces

Mould, flood or biohazard is a remediation job, not an upholstery one.

InsteadAssessed on site, referred, then reassessed.

Coverage

Where we collect from.

Furniture repair pickup and delivery runs across all five boroughs of New York City. What changes is the timing, not the service.

Custody

Six stages, and a record at every one.

The worry is the piece leaving in someone else's hands. The answer is a paper trail that exists before it moves and is checked when it comes back.

Most transit damage is not impact. It is a corner catching a doorframe, or plastic sealed onto the hide in a warm van. Nothing that touches the leather is allowed to seal it.

Cushions go back to their own seat.

The building

The furniture is the easy part.

In a managed building, getting a vehicle to the door decides the date. We settle all of this while the scope is written, and file the paperwork for you.

How does furniture repair pickup and delivery work?

It starts with a survey in the room: the piece is graded, confirmed as needing a bench, the route measured and its condition photographed. It is wrapped, carried out inside the building's window, worked on at the shop, then returned to the same spot and checked against the photos.

Which pieces actually have to leave?

Only three kinds of work: a broken or racked frame, foam cut to a new pattern, and a full recover. Everything else is done where the furniture stands, and built-in banquettes and booths are never collected.

Is there an extra charge for pickup and delivery?

Most collections are in the project quote. A heavy or awkward one, such as a sectional, a walk-up or a long carry, is a separate line on the same written quote, agreed before work starts. Nothing is added afterwards.

How long is a piece away?

The work sets it, not the transport. Frames wait on glue, a recover waits on material, and phased jobs are sequenced so the room keeps trading. On larger volumes that phasing runs as a bulk project.

Do you offer furniture repair pickup and delivery for homes?

Yes. A sofa from an apartment is handled the same way as one from a hotel lobby: surveyed, photographed, wrapped and returned. The only difference is paperwork. See reupholstery and leather sofa reupholstery.

Book the assessment, not the van.

A technician grades each piece and says plainly which can be handled in place and which are worth collecting. Furniture repair pickup and delivery across the five boroughs, with emergency repairs for anything that cannot wait.
