Medical office furniture repair NYC

Fixed in the order your patients see it.

Medical office furniture repair NYC, room by room: front desk, waiting row, exam table, draw chair, consult room. One crew after the last appointment; every room ready before the first.

The route

Five stops. Five different failures.

Every room in a practice wears from a different motion, so medical office furniture repair NYC is five jobs, not one. We work them in the order a patient meets them.

  1. Medical office reception desk with a laminate check-in ledge, no one at the counter
01Front deskLedge edges chipped by clipboards, bags and card readers.
  2. A row of taupe vinyl waiting room chairs in an empty medical office
02Waiting rowArm fronts and seat noses cracked by the push to stand.
  3. A black vinyl exam table with a pull-out step in an empty exam room
03Exam tableHead end and step pad split where patients climb on.
  4. A grey vinyl phlebotomy draw chair with a flip-up armrest beside a lab counter

  5. A rolling physician stool and two guest chairs in a medical consult room

Stop by stop

How each piece is repaired, and where it stays while we work.

In medical office furniture repair NYC, nothing is a spot touch-up. Each repair is built, colored and sealed to the piece around it. More in the before and after gallery.

Before: chips along the white laminate edge of a medical office check-in counter
Before
After: the same counter edge rebuilt and refinished, no chips left
After

01 · Front desk

01

Reception counters and check-in ledges

Fails from
Hard things meeting the same edge all day: clipboards, bags, card terminals, keys.
The repair
Chips are filled and leveled, the edge is re-profiled by hand, and color and sheen are blended across the whole ledge. See commercial wood furniture repair.
Configuration
Built in, so it is worked in place. Screens and paperwork are covered, and the desk is usable the same night.
The counter edge chips filled and sanded level, sanding block resting on the ledge
Filled, then leveled to the original edge line.
Before: cracked taupe vinyl on the front of a waiting room chair arm
Before
After: the same waiting room chair arm repaired and recolored to the row
After

02 · Waiting row

02

Waiting room chairs and benches

Fails from
The push to stand. Arm fronts and the seat nose take it; the backs stay close to new. More on waiting room seating.
The repair
Cracks are cleaned, filled with flexible compound, grained to the vinyl around them and recolored into the row. See armrest repair and crack repair.
Configuration
Ganged rows stay bolted together and are worked where they stand. Single chairs go to a prep table at the side of the room.
Flexible filler spread into the armrest cracks, a palette knife resting on top of the arm
Filler goes in flexible, so it moves with the arm.
Before: a split in the black vinyl at the head end corner of an exam table
Before
After: the same exam table corner closed, grained and sealed
After

03 · Exam table

03

Exam table tops and step pads

Fails from
Climbing on. Weight lands on the step and the head end, and the paper roll rubs one corner.
The repair
A short split is closed from behind with a backing patch, filled, grained and sealed. A top brittle end to end is a recover: exam table reupholstery.
Configuration
The table stays in the exam room and the top is repaired on the base. Nothing is disconnected.
The split exam table corner with a flat spatula resting on the pad, prepped for the backing patch
Prepped from behind; the patch goes under the split, not over it.
A phlebotomy chair armrest pad worn through to the fabric backing at the elbow area
04 · Draw chair
04

Phlebotomy and treatment chairs

Fails from
An arm gripped, rested on and wiped down between every patient. The pad goes first at the elbow crease.
The repair
A worn pad is rebuilt and recolored. If the foam has collapsed, the pad alone is re-covered. More on medical treatment seating.
Configuration
Arm pads usually unbolt and are worked at the prep table. The chair, its lift and its hardware stay put.
A draw chair armrest pad unbolted and laid face up on a covered prep table with its screws in a tray
Unbolted and worked flat, screws kept with the pad.
A physician stool with a scuffed seat edge and an opened side seam
05 · Consult room
05

Physician stools and consult chairs

Fails from
Rolling, swiveling and leaning in to examine. Seat edges scuff, and side seams open where the cover is pulled tight.
The repair
Seams are restitched or bonded, scuffs refinished, and the seat colored to match its pair. See seam repair and scuff repair.
Configuration
Loose pieces. They go to the prep area and come back to the same room.
The physician stool side seam closed with new stitching, curved needle and thread resting on the seat, edge scuffs still to refinish
Seam closed first; the scuffed edge is refinished next.
One evening

A family practice, after the last appointment.

On this medical office furniture repair NYC job, three rooms needed work: a split exam table, a chipped check-in ledge and a waiting row with cracked arms. This is how the visit ran.

  1. Blue tape markers beside damage on a waiting room chair arm and the check-in counter
01Walk the route with the office manager and tape-mark every piece in the order patients use it.
  2. An exam room at night with the counter, cabinets and supply cart covered in plastic sheeting
02Mask each work area. Sinks, supply carts and cabinets are covered before anything opens.
  3. An airbrush on a small stand beside a freshly recolored taupe waiting chair arm
03Repair the table, the ledge and the arms, then recolor to the rest of the row, not to a swatch.
  4. The waiting room reset after the repair, taupe chairs back in their row in morning light
04Cure, wipe every repair with the practice's own disinfectant, then reset the rooms.

That is medical office furniture repair NYC practices can book without closing a day. Visits run through our off-hours service and on-site repairs.

What it is made of

Four surfaces in one office.

Most practices run all four. Each takes its own filler, color and topcoat.

Color is mixed to each surface separately through custom color matching, and texture through material matching, so a desk and the chair beside it still read as one room. All materials we work on.

Repair or recover

When a repair is the wrong job.

We say so on the walkthrough, before anything is quoted as a repair.

Around the appointment book

The practice never closes for it.

Work runs after hours, overnight or on a weekend. Your building gets our certificate of insurance before the visit, and the project process is set with your office manager in advance.

See overnight service, vendor setup and pickup and delivery for pieces that leave the building.

Questions

Before you book the evening.

What does medical office furniture repair NYC cover?

Exam tables, waiting room chairs, phlebotomy chairs, physician stools, consult chairs and front desks, in vinyl, faux leather, leather and wood, repaired on site in the room where each piece lives.

Can you work after the office closes?

Yes. Most work starts after the last appointment or runs on a weekend, and every room is reset before the practice reopens.

Will the repair hold up to our disinfectant wipes?

Every repair is sealed and cured before handback, then wiped with your own product to confirm it. Tell us which disinfectant you use when you book.

Do you repair exam tables in place?

Usually. The top is repaired on the table, in the exam room. If it needs a new cover, the cushion comes off and returns fitted to the same base.

Is repair or reupholstery the better choice?

Repair when the damage is local and the rest of the cover is still supple. When the whole surface has gone brittle, we tell you to recover it instead.

How do I get a quote?

Text one photo of each damaged piece with the room it sits in. We reply with an estimate and a proposed evening for the work.
