Tattoo chair reupholstery: black client chairs and stations in a NYC tattoo studio at dusk

Tattoo Studio Furniture & Upholstery

Tattoo chair reupholstery for NYC studios: new foam and a sealed, wipeable cover on the chair you already own.

Why it matters

The Chair Is Your Surface

Every NYC artist is licensed after the Health Department’s infection control training. The chair is where that work either holds or fails.

  1. Hours, not minutes. A long session sits on one spot of foam until it stops coming back.
  2. Wiped after every client. Disinfectant and green soap dry the vinyl until it cracks.
  3. A split is a hole. Once the cover opens, fluid gets into the foam and it cannot be cleaned.

Station to Front Desk

Tattoo chair reupholstery keeps the frame, lift and motor. Here is what is recovered on each piece, and where the work is done.

Where Tattoo Chairs Wear Out

Six places a studio chair gives out. When most of them show on one chair, tattoo chair reupholstery costs less than patching each one.

Sometimes a Repair Is Enough

If the vinyl is sound and the damage is small, we repair instead. We will tell you which, chair by chair. See commercial repair.

After the Last Client

We come in when the studio closes and work one station at a time. Pads that need the shop go by pickup and come back fitted.

Questions

Tattoo chair reupholstery questions

What does tattoo chair reupholstery cost?

Tattoo chair reupholstery is quoted per chair after we see it, in person or from photos. It depends on how many pads need a new cover and whether the foam is replaced. We do not quote off a list. Start with a free estimate.

Do we lose a station while you work?

Only one, and usually after hours. Pads come off one chair at a time. See off-hours service.

Repair or reupholster?

Repair one worn spot or a small split. Reupholster when cracks cover the seat or fluid has reached the foam. See furniture repair.

Will the new cover take our disinfectant?

Yes. Tell us what you wipe with and we fit a commercial vinyl rated for it.

Can you match our other chairs?

Yes. Color and grain are matched to the chairs that stay, with color matching.

Do you work on electric tattoo chairs?

Yes. The pads unscrew from the frame, so the motor and wiring are never opened.
