Leather repair Hamptons: an ivory leather sofa in a bright, empty summer house

Leather repair Hamptons Closed For Winter, Fixed For Summer

A shut house is the best time to do the work properly, with nobody waiting. See what's possible.

How every other job is shaped

Somebody Needs The Room Back

In a year-round house the sofa is the only sofa. Cushions can't leave, finishes get rushed. That limits the schedule.

What An Empty House Does

A shut room is not a still room. Three things carry on unseen.

Walk Through With A Camera

You get one clean look a year. By week two the arm is just the arm.

What Your May Photos Show

Almost every leather repair Hamptons request turns out to be one of these six.

If the house is let

Renters Change The Calendar

A summer let produces spills, scratches and burns mid-season, not slow winter wear. For a let house, leather repair Hamptons work splits in two: quick fixes between tenants, the color work in fall.

Closing up

Asked While Closing The House

Do you need me to be there?
Not for the estimate, if the photos are good. Someone has to let us in, often a house manager.
Is it cheaper to book in the fall?
Same price, but the full job becomes possible.
Will it be back before the season?
Yes, with a large margin. Anything collected in October is back well before spring.
The house is unheated. Is that worse?
Different. Damp instead of dry, so bloom and stiffening instead of cracks.
Can you take everything at once?
Usually, and we'd push for it. Leather repair Hamptons work done in one pass matches.
A guest pointed it out. Should I have seen it?
No. Fresh eyes see what habit hides. That is normal.
