Overnight furniture repair
Done before your doors open.
One continuous run on an empty site, planned against one fixed time: the moment you open. Seating across New York City is repaired, set, reset and checked through the night, so the room is complete before the first person walks in.
The night, backwards
The plan starts at the end.
Your opening time is the only part of the night that cannot move, so overnight furniture repair is planned in reverse. Read left to right, from the deadline back to the start.
DeadlineDoors open
Everything back in place, nothing wet, no tools left. This time is fixed.

What sets the deadline
What has to dry decides the night, not the repair.
Doing the work is rarely the limit; waiting for it is. Four things decide how early work has to stop, and whether yours fits a night at all.
- Adhesive and bonding
Slower whenthe room is cold or damp, the bonded area is large, or the joint takes weight at once.
Faster whenthe space is warm and dry, or the repair is stitched or stapled instead of glued.
- Finish and topcoat
Slower whenseveral coats rebuild a worn surface, the sheen is high, or the air is humid.
Faster whenthe existing finish is sound and only needs a matched touch-in.
- Colour and dye
Slower whenthe shade is being changed, or the leather is absorbent and takes colour in passes.
Faster whenthe colour stays in the same family on pigmented leather.
- Structure and filling
Slower whena seat platform is rebuilt or a frame joint is glued and clamped.
Faster whenfoam is cut to size in advance and the frame is sound.
We do not quote a number of hours. The assessment works out the latest point your job can start and still finish safely. If that is too early to be realistic, it is not an overnight job: it becomes off-hours work across several visits.

No return
After a set time, nothing new gets started.
Sometimes a seat is opened and more damage is found. Handled badly, the room opens with a piece half apart. Handled properly, the decision was already made, in writing.
Scope can still grow
A second split panel or a loose frame joint can be added, because there is still time to repair it, set it and leave it. Anything added is confirmed with you after, never a surprise invoice.
Set at the assessment and written into the schedule.
Scope is closed
Anything new is photographed, made safe and booked for another visit. A piece half-repaired at opening is worse than one nobody touched.
Empty site
Overnight needs the room to itself.
Closed to customers and truly empty are two different things, and overnight furniture repair needs the second. Five things have to be true before a date is agreed.
- 01No other trade on the floorCleaning, sanding or drilling puts dust in wet finish, the most common way a night fails.
- 02The whole affected areaNot one banquette while the rest hosts an event. If only part is free, phase it.
- 03Light and powerFull house lights and outlets that stay live after midnight.
- 04One contact all nightSomeone who can be reached for a door, a lift or a decision.
- 05A certificate on fileNo building releases a floor at night without it. See COI and insurance.

One night
What finishes in a night, and what does not.
Scope decides what overnight furniture repair can finish, not size. A long banquette run of simple repairs fits a night better than one armchair stripped to the frame.
Fits a night
- Seam, stitch and split repair in placeLocal and held mechanically, not waiting on a large bond.
- Panel replacement on a booth runPredictable and repetitive; the material is settled beforehand through material matching.
- Re-covering fixed booths and banquettesStapled and stitched, so it holds the moment it is fitted. Booked as commercial reupholstery.
Usually fits
- Colour correction in the same shadeWorn arms and seat fronts on pigmented leather over a sound finish.
- Foam and webbing renewalWhen the foam is cut in advance and the frame underneath is sound.
Not one night
- Loose seating stripped to the frameCollected and rebuilt instead, via pickup and delivery.
- A real shade changeNew colour builds in passes that each have to dry.
- Frame repair and clamped jointsClamps cannot come off early to make a schedule work.
Work that needs more than a night but can stay in the building becomes off-hours service. A recurring need across several sites usually belongs in a maintenance program.
Who books it
Rooms that cannot open late.
If your room could open an hour later, you want off-hours service and should not pay for a deadline. These are the rooms where the deadline is real.
Questions
What businesses ask before booking a night.
Do you offer overnight furniture repair in New York City?
Yes, for rooms that cannot open late: hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, reception floors, theatres and restaurants with a fixed first service. One continuous run on an empty site, and the room is reset and checked before the doors open.
Can you reupholster booths and banquettes overnight?
Yes, it is our most common overnight job. Built-in seating cannot go to a workshop, so it is stripped, re-padded and re-covered where it stands. Stapled and stitched work holds as soon as it is fitted, and the material is cut beforehand, so the night is fitting, not deciding.
How do you know it will be finished before we open?
The plan is built backwards from your opening time. The assessment sets the latest point the work can start, and the schedule runs from the handback back through reset, cure, work and load-in. If the night is too short, you hear it before anything is booked.
What if you find more damage in the middle of the night?
Before the point of no return, the scope can grow. After it, the damage is photographed, made safe and booked for another visit. The rule is fixed in advance, not decided at three in the morning.
Is overnight furniture repair different from off-hours service?
Overnight is bought for a deadline: one run, done by opening. Off-hours is bought for a schedule: evenings, mornings or weekends, across several visits if needed. If nothing has to be finished by a set morning, off-hours is the simpler way to buy the same work.
